Are you ready for some Clooney/Krasinski football?

Leatherheads is a fictionalized account of the origins of the NFL, by way of an old-fashioned screwball comedy.

The movie, directed and co-written by George Clooney, stars the Syriana Oscar winner as the coach of a wannabe pro football team in the 1920s. The title of the film, out Dec. 7, refers to the thin leather helmets of early football.

The coach recruits a World War I hero (The Office’s John Krasinski) as his star player. “At that time, the NFL was just a bunch of guys smashing heads in cornfields,” Krasinski says. “(He) realizes that if he can get a star college player, more people will come to see these quote-unquote professional teams.”

The plan works, and crowds start gathering. But Renee Zellweger’s journalist is trying to expose the star as a fraud.

She of course ends up in a love triangle. Cracks Krasinski: “All the ladies can rest assured, George Clooney will always win. I’m no match for him.”

Here’s Another Photo from Clooney’s ‘Leatherheads’

USA Today has unveiled another photo from Leatherheads; George Clooney’s third directorial outing, and his first attempt at a comedy. I was about to claim that this is the first Leatherheads pic to hit the net, but I don’t believe it is. On IMDb, they already have up an additional five photos of guys clowning around in those old school football uniforms from back in the early days of the sport. And that’s exactly what Leatherheads is about: In the film Clooney plays the coach of a “wannabee pro football team in the 1920s.” In an attempt to add some legitimacy to his team, coach decides to try to recruit a World War I hero (John Krasinski) as his star player. Problems arise when both men fall head over heels for a pretty journalist (Renée Zellweger) who’s out to expose the star as a fraud. Read more

A Journey to Darfur was produced by reporter Nick Clooney after being moved by the trip he and his son, actor George Clooney, took to the Sudan border last year. Included in the documentary are emotional interviews with the genocide-ravaged refugees of Darfur , conducted by George and Nick. The program also features an exclusive interview with George Clooney. A Journey to Darfur premiered on AmericanLife TV in January and has been licensed to several international broadcasters, including France2.

New Michael Clayton Film Stills

July 8, 2007 · Filed Under Michael Clayton · Comment

Hello,

I have added some new (at least to me :-) ) film stills from Michael Clayton. They are available here:

http://www.clooneynetwork.com/photogallery/showgallery.php?cat=1760

I hope I haven’t ruined them by placing two tags on each photo. One is obvious, the other is not.

I’ve not had time to do anything with Clooney Network or even to look at George stuff. I’ve got several other sites I am working on but will get back to Clooney Network when I can. :-)
