APPOINTED Oscar winner (and current Best Actor nominee) George Clooney, 46, was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace Jan. 18. An advocate for Darfur refugees, the Michael Clayton star is being “recognized for focusing public attention on crucial international political and social issues,” U.N. spokeswoman Michele Montas said.
